WHEN
THE SURGERY IS CLOSED
NHS Direct offer
a 24 hour nurse-led service to provide advice and health information. You can
contact them directly on 0845 4647 or visit www.nhsdirect.wales.nhs.uk. If you require emergency medical help when
the surgery is closed please telephone the surgery number and you will be automatically
transferred to PRIMECARE who currently operate the doctor's emergency service
on behalf of the Local Health Board. Calls during out-of-hours (ie before 8.00am
and after 6.30pm, all weekends and Bank Holidays) should be for EMERGENCIES ONLY.
A call handler at PRIMECARE will take details and pass them on to the medical
team for triaging. You will either be given telephone advice, asked to attend
the primary care centre based in either West Wales General Hospital or Prince
Philip Hospital, or offered a home visit.
Disabled
Access
The surgery has been designed with the disabled in mind. The surgery entrance
and all consultation/treatment rooms are suitable for access of wheelchairs. There
are also disabled toilet facilities.
